Marriage Certificates
Marriage records are made available (with proper identification) to the bride, groom, legal representative, or someone who can demonstrate a legal claim to the record. If you received your marriage license from the White Plains City Clerk's Office, then your marriage record is filed in this office.

If you are someone other than the bride / groom, please contact our office at 914-422-1227 for additional requirements.

How to Apply
In Person
Bring the appropriate identification for the type of certificate you are requesting, along with $10 fee (either cash or money order), and a completed marriage certificate application, which also can be provided when you come in to the office.

By Mail
Enclose a photocopy of the appropriate identification for the type of certificate you are requesting, the required fee of $10 per certificate in the form of a money order / certified check made payable to "The City of White Plains" (we do not accept personal checks), and a completed application and mail to:

Requests are usually answered the same day in which they are received.

Identification
One of the following is required:
  • Current Driver's License
  • Military ID
  • Non-Drivers Identification
  • Passport
