National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day
September 24, 2010 Contact: Department of Public Safety 914-422-6111 The U. S. Department of Justice in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration is holding the first-ever nationwide prescription drug take back day. The service is free and anonymous. Rates of prescription drug abuse in the U.S. are increasing at alarming rates, as are the number of accidental poisonings and overdoses due to these drugs. The City of White Plains will participate in this event on Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. |

More than a decade of research by The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University has consistently found that the more often kids eat dinner with their families, the less likely they are to smoke, drink or use drugs. |
