Thank you for your interest in donating new or gently used business clothing to the Career Closet. To help us assist and offer a premium dressing service, please follow the guidelines below to help determine what to give and how to give most effectively. The apparel offered are gifts given to men and women with dignity and should be in a condition worthy of being received as such.
We welcome business suits, pants, jackets, skirts, dresses, blouses, tops and work appropriate handbags and accessories.
Clothes should be freshly cleaned or laundered and ironed. They do not need to be on hangers but please fold them neatly and pack them in bags or boxes that one person could carry. Handbags should be clean, and all contents removed.
Please ensure that zippers are working, all buttons are intact, items are stain free and that there are no rips or holes.
We ask that you consider and respect that if you would not wear it to work today, our clients may not either. Items should be fashionable, almost new and of good quality. This makes our clients look good and feel good so they can put their best foot forward at interviews and in the workplace.
WE DO NOT ACCEPT
We do not accept underwear of any kind.
We do not accept items that are not work-appropriate such as: tracksuits, gym wear, or evening wear.
