Battle of White Plains 243rd Anniversary Commemoration at Jacob Purdy Park

Sunday, October 27, 2019

The White Plains Historical Society will present it’s annual commemoration of the Battle of White Plains fought in 1776, 243 years ago. The festive event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Jacob Purdy House, 60 Park Avenue in White Plains – that served as General George Washington’s headquarters during the Battle. Colonial soldier re-enactors and General Washington, himself, will be there as he fought for freedom and self-determination right here in White Plains in October of 1776 and again in July-August of 1778. Be sure to attend and enjoy visiting and learning about White Plains’ place in history.
