The state now has over 100,000 cases; there are 784 new cases in Westchester for a current total of 12,351 out of 40,713 people tested in the county. We have discussed the lag in provision of municipality specific case numbers, today we did not receive any numbers at all. As always what we receive we will share with you. Our number yesterday was 268.
I want to take a moment to give a shout out to all those who have stepped up to help out in our Community during this crisis. In the past week, thanks to the combined efforts of volunteers, schools, non-profits, and government, an estimated 1,000 bags of food and 2,500 meals were distributed. We have had anonymous donors step forward financially to help those in need. Sunshine Pharmacy, Hastings Tea Shop, and Pedigree Ski Shop have donated hand sanitizer, masks, and goggles. There have been many others, demonstrating just how well our community is woven together. Volunteers have stepped up and have made a difference. If you would like to volunteer please email: volunteer@whiteplainsny.gov.
Don’t forget, we are paying tribute to all our essential workers tonight at 7pm. Come to your door, window, balcony, or driveway and make some noise to show how much what they are doing matters to us. Maintain your 6 foot distance!
Remember we are standing together by staying apart
