Executive Order Issued Requiring Wearing of Facial CoveringsIn furtherance of the city’s effort to limit the spread of the Covid-19 virus, Mayor Thomas Roach has issued an Executive Order requiring the wearing of facial coverings in the City of White Plains, under certain circumstances. The Order provides, in relevant part, as follows:
All persons must wear facial coverings when visiting or patronizing businesses and when working at or for such businesses, including groceries and pharmacies; food service businesses, including restaurants, cafes and delis that provide carry out, walk up or delivery service; construction sites; public transit vehicles or facilities; vehicles for hire, including taxis; and when visiting any location where social distancing of at least six feet from another person is not possible. All delivery, service and repair workers must wear facial coverings when they are within 10 feet of the entrance to or on the premises of any office, business or residence. Facial coverings include any covering which snugly covers the mouth and nose, whether store bought or homemade, and which is secured with ties or ear loops.
The Order was effective as of 4pm on April 14, 2020.
