The City of White Plains has partnered with Westchester Residential Opportunities (WRO) to offer assistance to eligible tenants who are in danger of eviction.
WRO is now accepting applications for assistance with rental arrears or utility shut-off notices.
If eligible, rental payments will be made directly to the landlord/management.
Funding for this initiative comes from a grant award to the City from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the federal CARES Act. The City is utilizing the grant funding to support community organizations whose services are specifically focused on hunger mitigation and housing security. This funding will supplement the ongoing efforts by the City and its community partner, such as food distributions and housing counseling assistance to residents to avoid foreclosure or eviction.
