What Happens in September?
City of White Plains Information Session on Youth Program Offerings During After-School and Out-of-School Time
We know that many parents are anxious about the start of the new school year. In addition to all of the usual scheduling and logistical challenges parents must deal with as September approaches, this year we add to it the fact that we are still very much in the midst of a public health crisis. That crisis has resulted in our children having modified learning schedules. For parents these school schedule changes present unique challenges as they juggle work and home responsibilities. For young people, this has meant a fundamental change in the way they learn and the opportunities they have to interact with their peers.
During these challenging times, it becomes even more critical that our youth be engaged in positive and fun activities during after-school and out-of-school time. They need continued opportunities for socialization and development of positive life skills.
That is why the City of White Plains Office of the Mayor and the White Plains Youth Bureau will host a virtual information session for parents and families on Wednesday, September 16th at 5:30 p.m. via Zoom to discuss youth program offerings during after-school and out-of-school time.
