Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update for Residents, November 2, 2020

CWP seal

The cumulative number of people who have tested positive in White Plains since testing began is 2,122.  The County estimates there are currently 82 active cases in White Plains, 8 more than on Friday, the last day numbers were provided to us. These increases were predicted by health experts but remain manageable if we all continue to abide by the common sense protocols of mask wearing and social distancing.

All City offices will be closed on Tuesday, November 3rd, Election Day, and there will be no garbage pick-up.  There will be no paper recycling this week. Paper recycling will resume on Wednesday, November 11th.  If you live on a Monday – Thursday garbage collection route, your pick-up schedule will not change. If you live on a Tuesday – Friday garbage collection route, your garbage will be picked up on Wednesday and Friday this week.

If you have not already voted, I urge you to do so tomorrow, Election Day. We saw record setting numbers of voters during early voting and total voter participation may also be heading for a record. Be a part of it! Polls are open from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. If you are uncertain where your polling place is, go to CitizenParticipation.westchestergov.com.

Finally, I am happy to report that the city has resumed the collection of textiles for recycling at the Gedney Recycling Facility on Gedney Way.

Our next call will be on Monday, November 9th.   Until then remember, we are standing together by staying apart.
