The White Plains Youth Bureau will present its 1st Annual Youth Voices program in which letters written to Dr. Martin Luther, King. Jr. will be read by White Plains youth. In 1958, Jean Kepler wrote a letter to Dr. King after he was stabbed in Harlem. Dr. King quoted Jean’s letter on several occasions and said that she was a student at White Plains High School. After much research, it was learned that Jean lived in Pleasantville, NY.
The letter writing program was designed to provide an opportunity for White Plains youth to express their thoughts and feelings about Dr. King and the difference he made in our country and the world. The program will be held via zoom. For more information and to get the zoom link, contact the White Plains Youth Bureau, 422-1378.
