#VaxUpWestchester and the student-run
Westchester Youth Congress coalition (who initiated the following) are co-hosting a virtual town hall for all parents and teens this coming Tuesday, Aug, 10 beginning at 7:30 p.m. Four qualified medical professionals with diverse specialties and personal backgrounds will be live and eager to address any and all questions and concerns our communities might have surrounding the Covid-19 vaccine as we approach back to school.
Here is the additional, public login info for the Zoom room: Meeting code: 688 4791 Passcode: 213304
Attached is a flyer with all event details in both English and Spanish that we encourage you to share far and wide. (I have also attached a flyer for one of our in-person info/vaccination events in Yonkers tomorrow for those whom it is applicable.)
And here, for your info, are some short bios for the experts who will be present:
- Carol B. Allen, MD is a retired internist and hospital administrator who practiced at the Bronx Veterans Affairs hospital at Hudson River Health Care in Peekskill. And she also was Chairman of the pioneering Greenburgh Covid Angels, which laid the foundation for #VaxUpWestchester.
- Yong Sing da Silva, MD was Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Kravis Children’s Hospital at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in Manhattan during the virus's initial surge. Having since relocated to Florida, he is now Medical Director of Pediatrics and a Pediatric Intensive Care Doctor at Palms West Children’s Hospital in Loxahatchee, FL.
- Dr. Lawrence Neshiwat, MD is a practicing clinician affiliated with St. John's Riverside Hospital in Yonkers, among others, and specializes in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, and has repeatedly assisted both Covid Angels and #VaxUpWestchester with vaccination and education efforts alongside his entire family of medical professionals.
- And finally, Maura D. Frank, MD is a retired Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics with Weill Cornell Medical and was a practicing pediatrician for many years. She has also been an instrumental volunteer in both the Covid Angels and #VaxUpWestchester, particularly when it comes to the concerns of parents and children.
