Do you have household items you no longer use? Consider donating to the TILI Shed @ Gedney Recycling

TILI shed two

TRASH to One may be TREASURE to Others!

Please remember to RECYCLE gently used household items such as dishes, silverware, vases, bicycles, tables and chairs, etc. by taking them down the the Gedney Recycling Yard TILI Shed.  The more we reuse perfectly good items, the less we add to our landfills!

Open Wednesday afternoons from 2-4 p.m. and Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. - Noon, this volunteer operated recycling shed is a treasure in itself.  If you need items, please visit!  Once dropped off for donation, all items are available to others who can use them.  In the spirit of giving and taking - this operation is on a first come, first served basis.  Please note:  The TILI Shed does NOT accept any items made of or with fabric, i.e. NO pillows, fabric covered furniture, stuffed animals - no matter how cute they are - etc.  The TILI Shed operates on a seasonal basis from spring through October.

Take It or Leave It (TILI) Shed

Run by Eco Neighbors - a volunteer organization located in White Plains - this award winning shed has been instrumental in keeping perfectly good toys, furniture and kitchenware, recycled and therefore, out of the landfills. Drop off your gently used household items such as dishware, bicycles, radios, etc. for another family to use. They do not accept any stuffed toys, pillows or fabric furniture.

If you have questions regarding the TiLi Shed, or if you would like to volunteer, please send your requests to

The Gedney Recycling Yard is open to White Plains residents Monday thru Saturday from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and on Sundays from 8 Noon, year round.  Residents may drop off other recycling items at the Gedney Yard such as commingled cans & jars, paper products, textiles (clean used fabric items) and electronics.  You may also pick up free top soil, mulch, compost and unsplit logs.
