Hazardous weather conditions are expected for Sunday, August 22nd, due to the effects of Henri. Henri is expected to make landfall on Long Island or southern New England and our area will experience the storm's impacts, including heavy precipitation and windy conditions.
Please take precautions today in advance of the storm by bringing outdoor furniture and toys inside or securing them if possible. Check that your gutters are clear of leaves and other debris. There may be power outages due to Henri, so it would be prudent to have supplies, such as candles, batteries, and water on hand. Refrain from traveling tomorrow unless absolutely necessary.
If you experience a power outage, please report it to Con Ed by calling 1-800-752-6633 or online at www.coned.com. Please do not assume that Con Ed knows about your outage. Once you report your problem, Con Ed will send you automatic updates.
All City pools, tennis courts, parks and playgrounds will be closed tomorrow.
The Library's scheduled hours for Sunday are 1:00-5:00 PM. Please check the Library's website, https://whiteplainslibrary.org/, for updates on its status before heading over.
The City of White Plains Department of Public Works has been preparing for the storm by clearing catch basins and culverts and ensuring that all of its equipment is prepared and ready to go.
Stay safe, White Plains!
