Important Safety Issue for Residents
Residents undertaking any work related to the replacement or reinstallation of gas-fired equipment (i.e. – boilers, furnaces, hot water heaters, etc.) as a result of the Hurricane Ida storm are asked to contact the City of White Plains Building Department. The Building department would like to verify that the installation or re-installation of such equipment in your home is/was performed by Westchester County licensed individuals and in accordance with City and State codes.
Improperly installed gas-fired equipment can lead to unsafe conditions such as carbon monoxide exposure, potential leakage of gas into your home, and other potentially hazardous conditions.
Due to these potential safety concerns we strongly advise residents who are having any work done related to gas-fired equipment, to please contact the City of White Plains Building Department at (914) 422-1269.
