On Friday, January 10th, the White Plains Youth Bureau will open its second Teen Lounge for Middle and High School students. The Battle Hill Teen Lounge, located at 55 McKinley Avenue, will be open every Friday from 4pm to 7pm. The Teen Lounge will provide structured programming for both Middle and High School students at this drop in center. Students can take advantage of the many options the space has to offer such as cooking, ping pong, billiards, foosball, video gaming, art and crafts and of course homework help. They can also look forward to a variety of structured popup programming such as spoken word, double dutch, coding, journaling, video game design and jewelry making just to name a few of the many options. The space is also equipped with big screen TV’s and a full kitchen. The Youth Bureau provides van rides home for participants who need transportation.
Ms. Yocasta Jimenez aka Miss Yogi, beloved social worker at White Plains High School will be the Friday evening coordinator.
The Battle Hill Teen Lounge is located at 55 McKinley Avenue. The entrance is at the back of the parking lot next to the door with the green awning.
