White Plains Limits Public Access to City Government Buildings Amid Covid-19 Outbreak
White, NY – March 20, 2020 – Due to the national COVID-19 outbreak, White Plains Mayor Thomas M. Roach today announced that White Plains City Hall and other City of White Plains government buildings will have reduced staffing, and very limited access to the public, effective immediately:
- DPW (255 Main St.): closed to walk-ins; for info call (914) 422-1206, Highway/Forestry 422-1256, Waste Water 422-1220, Sanitation 422-1217 .
- Building Department (70 Church St.): closed to walk-ins; call (914) 422-1269 for more information.
- City Clerk Office: closed to walk-ins; call (914) 422-1227 for more information.
- Assessor’s Office (255 Main St.): closed to walk-ins; call (914) 422-1224 for more information.
- Mayor’s Office (255 Main St.): closed to walk-ins; for assistance call (914) 422-1411.
- Department of Recreation & Parks (85 Gedney Way): Recreation and Parks closed to walk-ins; registration for programs may be done on-line at www.cityofwhiteplains.com or call (914) 422-1336.
- Community Center (65 Mitchell Place): closed to walk-ins, registration for programs may be done on-line at www.cityofwhiteplains.com or call (914) 422-1423.
- Youth Bureau (11 Amherst Pl, White Plains): closed to walk-ins. Please call (914) 422-1378 for more information.
- Planning Department (70 Church St): closed to walk-ins; call (914) 422-1300 for more information.
- Parking Department (255 Main St. Annex): closed to walk-ins, call (914) 422-1232 for information and assistance or email parking@whiteplainsny.gov.

- Parking Violations Office (77 South Lexington Ave.): Payments should be made by mail (check, money order, credit card only), phone at (914)422-8222 (option #2), or online at www.parkingticketpayment.com/whiteplains. Closed to walk-in traffic. Call (914) 422-6135 for parking summons and disabled parking permit information between 9:00am and 4:00pm.
- White Plains Fire Department (225 Mamaroneck Ave): Until further notice fire inspections, fire station visits and public education events have been cancelled. If it is an emergency, please dial 911.
- Police Department: Public Safety building located at 77 South Lexington Avenue is open. Call (914) 422-6111 for more information. If it is an emergency, please dial 911.
- Personnel Department: closed to walk-ins; call (914) 422-1257 for more information. Exam applications must be mailed in by 5pm of last filing date with credit card information for fee payment.
- Finance Department (255 Main St.): Accepting in-person payments however we encourage payment by check or credit card online. Call (914) 422-1235 for more information for online payments.
