The White Plains Historical Society will present it’s annual commemoration of the Battle of White Plains fought in 1776, 243 years ago. The festive event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Jacob Purdy House, 60 Park Avenue in White Plains – that served as General George Washington’s headquarters during the Battle. Colonial soldier re-enactors and General Washington, himself, will be there as he fought for freedom and self-determination right here in White Plains in October of 1776 and again in July-August of 1778. Be sure to attend and enjoy visiting and learning about White Plains’ place in history.

(This is the portion of MLK that is underneath the overpass to protect everyone from the elements)
Activities include: pumpkin patch, crafts, scary tattoos, petting zoo, live performances and a photo area. Everyone is invited to showcase their costumes in our parade. Prizes awarded for numerous age groups and categories. Treat bags for all children. Perfect for families, pre-schoolers, elementary age kids.
