Feeding Westchester 

Driven by the belief that access to healthy food is a basic right for all people, Feeding Westchester leads hunger action programs and mobilizes the resources needed to eradicate hunger in Westchester County. Feeding Westcheter  has initiated drive thru food distribution at locations around the county. In order to receive service, individuals should fill out a form to be notified of the next distribution time and location. To access the form please go to:

Family Services of Westchester  

RideConnect, a program of Family Services of Westchester, has been providing volunteer based transportation for over 10 years to older adults in Westchester & Southern Putnam counties. These rides are for medical, shopping, social visits, religious services and more. At this time, while RideConnect continues to provide this volunteer based transportation for critical medical appointments, they  have also enlisted volunteers to do essential shopping for older adults such as groceries, and medication pick-ups. Meals on Wheels White Plains 

Meals-on-Wheels of White Plains is a non-profit organization made up of volunteers with a commitment to delivering both food and compassion to  neighbors in need. Meals-on-Wheels of White Plains serves members of our community who are unable to shop or prepare adequate meals themselves. They are making deliveries twice a week and providing a frozen meal for the days they don’t visit. Local restaurants are offering curbside pickup, take-out, and/or delivery. Some food delivery apps, including UberEats, are waiving their delivery fees. White Plains Public Library

Has reconfigured its website to prioritize its digital resources and streaming media options. Access the Library website by clicking here: The Library also continues to send out weekly e-newsletters that highlight virtual activities and resources for adults, teens and children. United Way of Westchester and Putnam

As a convener and provider of resources, United Way has always been uniquely positioned in the community, in partnership with the nonprofit and government sector, to respond, provide assistance and support residents during times of uncertainty.  United Way has a 24/7 help line. Dial 211 and press “2” for connections to Coronavirus-related resources. 

DOROT of Westchester 

DOROT works with older adults, providing vital services and companionship to those who have difficulty leaving home without support.  Programs Include  Caring Calls, DOROT’s new program bringing warmth, conversation and social connection to older adults in isolation due to COVID-19.  and  University without Walls which  offers popular programs in the arts, literature, current events and more, for more information visit .  

Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) 

Offers  assistance to  seniors (age 60 and over) by phone. Their staff can provide information and referrals to help seniors get the resources needed. Seniors can call Judy Fink at (914)761-0600, ext. 2340. 


During this difficult time, The LOFT is providing:

  • 21 Virtual Support Groups to the local LGBTQ community
  • grocery runs for the most vulnerable (seniors, immune-compromised, and  those with special needs)
  • conducting daily check-in calls on those living alone and those who are vulnerable.

The Childcare Council of Westchester

 Offers assistance to essential workers to get financial aid to help cover the cost of childcare amid the coronavirus crisis. 

COVID-19 Emotional Support Hotline 

In New York, thousands of mental health professionals have volunteered to support their neighbors during this time of crisis. Residents can call the COVID-19 Emotional Support Hotline at 1-844-863-9314 for counseling services. 

The CARES Act 

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES)  Act provides economic assistance for American workers, families, and small businesses, and preserves jobs. 

The Department of Financial Services has provided guidance to mortgage servicers regarding support for borrowers impacted by the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)

For Mortgage Information call your mortgage servicer and visit the NYS Department of Financial Services website to learn more about the Governor’s Executive Order providing 90-day mortgage relief:

Executive Order which Governs Moratorium on Eviction

New York has implemented a 90-day moratorium on evictions for residential and commercial tenants. At this time, eviction proceedings have been suspended and no one can be evicted in New York State until at least June 20.
