After two amazing back-to-back concerts in June, we’re excited to keep the summer energy alive. Rock the Block returns for its third concert TONIGHT Wednesday, July 16, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM on Mamaroneck Avenue, between Maple Avenue and East Post Road.
This month features a new lineup of artists and exciting activities, including line dancing, making it a night you won't want to miss.
Tonight's concert will feature The Wildmans, a sibling duo known for their soulful Appalachian sounds, and The Big Happy, a Long Island band celebrated for their energetic fusion of music genres.
The Wildmans, hailing from Floyd, Virginia, are deeply rooted in Appalachian mountain music. Their unique sound blends traditional festival-style jamming with formal music education, creating an engaging and dynamic experience. The group has performed at festivals along the East Coast and in Colorado. Their latest album, Longtime Friend, was just released and is now available on most streaming platforms.
The Big Happy brings high-energy performances and a genre-blending style that combines jam, hip hop, reggae, and rock and roll. This four-piece Long Island-based band never fails to get the crowd moving.
For this third concert, we’re bringing back a crowd favorite from last year: line dancing! To complement the folk sounds of The Wildmans, our line dancing instructor will return to lead the crowd in easy-to-follow steps and fun group dances. So get your dancing shoes ready for another evening filled with music, movement, and community spirit!
As always, the street will be closed to traffic between Maple Avenue and East Post Road, transforming Mamaroneck Avenue into a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly space. Enjoy mini-golf, a golf simulator, cornhole, seesaws, clown visits, and of course, free live music!
