Affordable Home Ownership Program

White Plains Affordable Home Ownership Program:

The City of White Plains Affordable Home Ownership Program (AHOP) requires that a certain amount of units be set aside for purchase by families with eligible income when qualifying new residential ownership units are constructed. The purpose of the AHOP is to ensure that the City remains an economically diverse community by expanding ownership opportunities to moderate income households. Units are set aside for families with family income between 80% and 120% of Median Family Income for Westchester County. The AHOP is open to everyone who meets the income requirements. 

There is no residency requirement for participation. Monthly housing costs for ownership units is to be no more than 35% of gross annual income and is determined by family and unit size.

To be considered for the program you must first submit your name and current address to the City of White Plains Planning Department to begin the application process.
